This page explains what cookies are, which ones we use on CuttingSewing, what they're used for, and how to manage them. For our full data-handling policy, see also our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites store in your browser when you visit them. They're used to remember preferences, identify sessions, measure audiences, and serve relevant ads. There are first-party cookies (set by the site you're on) and third-party cookies (set by external services).

2. Categories of cookies we use

2.1 Essential cookies

Required for the basic operation of the site. Without them, features like security and consent preferences won't work properly. These do not require consent.

2.2 Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4)

These collect anonymous, aggregated information about how visitors use the site: most-read pages, time on page, device used, traffic sources. They help us understand what's working and improve our content.

2.3 Advertising cookies (Google AdSense, Ad Manager and partners)

Used to select and display relevant ads, measure campaign performance, and prevent ad fraud. These partners may combine data from this site with data from other sites to personalize ads.

3. How to manage cookies

3.1 Through the site's consent banner

On your first visit, you'll see a banner that lets you accept all cookies or decline non-essential ones. Your choice is stored locally in your browser and remembered on future visits.

To change your choice later, clear site data in your browser, or open the developer console and run CSCookieConsent.reset(). A footer "Cookie preferences" link will be added in a future site update to make this easier.

3.2 Through your browser settings

All modern browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies. See instructions for each:

3.3 Opt out of personalized advertising

4. Consequences of disabling cookies

Disabling essential cookies may break parts of the site. Disabling analytics and advertising cookies doesn't block access to content, but it limits our ability to improve the site and to fund operations through advertising.

5. Updates

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the technologies we use, advertising partners, or applicable laws. The last-updated date appears at the top.
